  • Meet a Woman Who Turned Hero Worship Upside Down!
    Mar 26 2026

Last week (March 18), we talked about how hero worship has been destroying our country and often our own personal lives. The result was amazing. Viewers got a new perspective on hero worship and how it has been damaging us, and they started challenging it. One of those viewers has already dramatically turned this pattern around in her life and work, and she would like to share this journey. An artist, writer and more, we meet Catalina Guzman. We are The Stream, a non-profit organization and online community dedicated to building the world we want through cultivating courage, awareness and creativity. • How America’s Hero Worship Has Been Destroying Us
    Mar 19 2026

Little boys want to be batman. Girls want to be Wonder Woman. And more. Whatever the form, we want to be heroes, saving our family, our friends, our world. But we can’t really be heroes, because we can only be human. And so when we can’t save our world and make everything all right, we look to others to fill the role. In a scary world, hero worship is really the search to be safe and saved. MAGA is a hero-worshiping cult built around a tragic figure who is vulnerable yet seemingly powerful and who can never be wrong. He is their perfect hero. Ideology and beliefs are the window dressing for hero-worship, and when our hero keeps contradicting himself, some of his worshippers rationalize it. Some finally feel betrayed. We all pay for this delusional thinking as we can see by the mess in our country today. Yet it’s hard to let go of the hero, even if the reality contradicts our illusions. What happens when the hero is proven to have clay feet? Who will save us now? Maybe us.
