What does it look like to invest in the human first?

In this episode of Leading While Human, hosts Sean Gaillard and Dr. Sonia Matthew welcome Sabrina Henry, an educator, advocate, and leader whose unique journey spans the worlds of brand marketing, higher education, classroom teaching, and educational leadership.

As a Community Engagement Manager with ISTE+ASCD, Sabrina is dedicated to advancing the Human Equity of education. Before entering education, she spent a decade leading brand marketing initiatives for major companies such as Coors Light and Hotels.com. Her career later shifted toward advocacy, cybersecurity, EdTech, and education, where she has spent the past decade championing the needs of educators, students, and communities.

Drawing on experiences from classrooms in London, Brooklyn, and Connecticut, Sabrina shares how she bridges the gap between policy and practice, ensuring that the voices of educators remain at the center of conversations about change and innovation.

Sean, Sonia, and Sabrina explore the importance of creating "Brave Spaces" where educators, particularly educators of color, feel seen, valued, and empowered to lead. Together, they discuss belonging, influence, human-centered leadership, and why meaningful transformation begins with authentic relationships.

At the heart of this conversation is a powerful belief that guides Sabrina's work: When we invest in the human first, the system follows.

If you care about leadership, learning, belonging, and creating spaces where people matter, this episode is for you.
