• San Antonio Spurs vs Timberwolves Game 1 Post Game Show | In The Building | Mike Taylor & Rudy Jay
    May 5 2026

Game 1 tips off tonight at 9:30 PM ET on Peacock. Here's the description ready to go live the moment the final buzzer sounds — just plug in the score and standout moments:

IN THE BUILDING | Spurs vs. Timberwolves Game 1 POST-GAME REACTION | 2026 NBA Playoffs Western Conference Semifinals

Mike Taylor and Rudy Jay are back LIVE with your full post-game breakdown from Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals. The San Antonio Spurs are on to the second round for the first time since 2017, and tonight they opened up at home against a battle-tested Minnesota Timberwolves team at Frost Bank Center. We have got the full reaction, the biggest storylines, and everything you need to know heading into Game 1.

    THE MATCHUP NOBODY SAW COMING

The ascendant San Antonio Spurs dispatched the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round, earning their first playoff series win since 2017. Now they face a battle-tested Timberwolves team that upset the third-seeded Denver Nuggets despite being ravaged by injuries. This is experience versus youth. Depth versus determination. And it is happening right here in San Antonio with home-court advantage on the Spurs' side.

Minnesota is seeking their third straight trip to the Western Conference Finals, going 49-33 in the regular season and proving once again they know how to compete when the stakes are highest. This is not a team that rolls over — the Wolves just knocked off the best offense in basketball.

    THE INJURY CLOUD OVER MINNESOTA

Anthony Edwards' status is the most interesting storyline of this series. He has been cleared for on-court activity after suffering a left knee hyperextension and bone bruise against Denver and was listed as questionable for Game 1. Donte DiVincenzo will miss the entire series after tearing his Achilles in round one.

If Edwards and Dosunmu sit, the key question for Minnesota becomes where they get their offense from. Against Denver, it came from Jaden McDaniels, who is emerging as a genuine star in these playoffs, averaging 17.8 points per game on 49.4% shooting from the field in the postseason.

THE STORYLINE EVERYONE IS WATCHING — WEMBY VS. GOBERT

Rudy Gobert has been mentoring Victor Wembanyama since his prodigy was a high schooler. They now battle each other for a chance at a title. Two of the most dominant big men in the game, two former Defensive Players of the Year, and one of the most compelling individual matchups the Western Conference has to offer.

Minnesota head coach Chris Finch could elect to put Gobert on Castle to allow him to roam the paint as a rim protector, put Julius Randle on Wembanyama — a matchup that gave Wembanyama issues in the regular season — and assign McDaniels to De'Aaron Fox. Or he could just put Gobert directly on Wembanyama after his dominant performance on Nikola Jokic in round one. Either way, Wemby will have no easy nights in this series.

THE HISTORY BETWEEN THESE TWO FRANCHISES

The Spurs and Timberwolves have only met twice in the playoffs, both times in the first round — in 1999 and 2001. San Antonio won both series 3-1, with Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett as the stars on each side. This is a new era, a new generation, and a much bigger stage. The Western Conference Semifinals is uncharted territory for this Spurs core.

  • San Antonio Spurs vs Trailblazers Game 5 Post Game Show | In The Building | Mike Taylor & Rudy Jay
    Apr 29 2026

Game 5 is tonight at Frost Bank Center and hasn't tipped off yet. Here's the description built and ready to go live the moment the Spurs close it out — just drop in any standout moments from tonight:

IN THE BUILDING | Spurs vs. Trail Blazers Game 5 POST-GAME REACTION | 2026 NBA Playoffs

Mike Taylor and Rudy Jay are back LIVE with your full post-game breakdown from Game 5 of the San Antonio Spurs vs. Portland Trail Blazers first-round series. The Spurs came in leading 3-1 with a chance to close out the series at home in front of the Frost Bank Center crowd — and tonight, San Antonio punched their ticket to the second round.

    HOW WE GOT HERE

This series has had everything. Victor Wembanyama posted 27 points, 11 rebounds, and seven blocks in his return from concussion protocol as San Antonio came back from a 19-point halftime deficit to win Game 4 114-93, while De'Aaron Fox added 28 points of his own. The Spurs trailed by as many as 17 at the half before outscoring Portland 73-35 in the second half — one of the most dominant second-half performances of these entire playoffs.

Before that, Stephon Castle delivered a postseason career-high 33 points and Dylan Harper exploded for a career-best 27 points and 10 rebounds in Game 3, powering the Spurs to a 120-108 road win without their star center. This team has answered every punch Portland threw.

    WHAT MADE THIS RUN SPECIAL

After clinching the series, Wembanyama spoke on what makes this group different: no jealousy, no stat hunting, just winning — and the Spurs' greatest strength has been exactly that all postseason long.

Stephon Castle has improved in every single game of this series — 17 points in Game 1, 18 in Game 2, 33 in Game 3 — and has proven he is not just the third option on this team but arguably its most dynamic player when the moment is biggest. The Spurs are going to be a problem for whoever comes next.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

San Antonio's first playoff series win since 2017. Wembanyama's first trip to the second round. A franchise that was in full rebuild mode just two years ago is now one of the most dangerous teams left in the Western Conference. For Portland, this series ends as a learning experience — they competed hard, pushed the Spurs to their limit in Game 2, and showed flashes of what this young group can become. But San Antonio was simply the better team.

The road to a championship continues. We will be here every step of the way.

  • San Antonio Spurs vs Trailblazers Game 4 Post Game Show | In The Building | Mike Taylor & Rudy Jay
    Apr 27 2026

IN THE BUILDING | Spurs vs. Trail Blazers Game 4 POST-GAME REACTION | 2026 NBA Playoffs

Mike Taylor and Rudy Jay are back LIVE with your full post-game breakdown from Game 4 of the San Antonio Spurs vs. Portland Trail Blazers first-round series in Portland. The Spurs came in leading 2-1 and with the biggest storyline in the entire NBA hanging over this game — and tonight delivered in a major way.

    THE KING IS BACK

Victor Wembanyama made his return from concussion protocol in Game 4, and the Spurs answered Portland's early surge to defeat the Trail Blazers 114-93, overcoming a 19-point deficit to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Wembanyama cleared the NBA's full concussion protocol and was in the starting lineup Sunday afternoon after missing Game 3 entirely. His presence alone changed the entire complexion of this series — and the Blazers felt it.

    WHERE THIS SERIES STANDS

Portland had all the momentum they needed heading into today. In Game 3, Stephon Castle delivered a postseason career-high 33 points while rookie Dylan Harper exploded for a career-best 27 points and 10 rebounds, powering the Spurs to a 120-108 road win without their star center. San Antonio outscored the Blazers 61-43 in the second half of Game 3, turning a 15-point deficit into a statement victory. Portland came into Game 4 desperate — and they came out swinging, building a 19-point lead before the Spurs showed exactly why they are the two seed.

The Blazers had no answer for Wembanyama back in the lineup, and San Antonio now stands one win away from advancing to the second round.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Spurs have historically owned this matchup, holding a 3-1 all-time series record against Portland in the playoffs, with series wins in 1999, 1993, and 2014. Tonight only added to that legacy. San Antonio has now won three straight in this series after dropping Game 2 and they have done it the Spurs way — with depth, toughness, and a young core that refuses to panic.

Game 5 is Tuesday night back in San Antonio. The Frost Bank Center is going to be rocking.

Drop your thoughts in the comments — How does Wemby's return change this series? Can Portland force a Game 6, or is San Antonio closing it out Tuesday?

  • San Antonio Spurs vs Trailblazers Game 3 Post Game Show | In The Building | Mike Taylor & Rudy Jay
    Apr 25 2026

Game 3 tips off tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET in Portland, so the final result isn't in yet. Here's the description ready to go live the moment the buzzer sounds — just drop in the score and any standout moments:

IN THE BUILDING | Spurs vs. Trail Blazers Game 3 POST-GAME REACTION | 2026 NBA Playoffs

Mike Taylor and Rudy Jay are back LIVE with your full post-game breakdown from Game 3 of the San Antonio Spurs vs. Portland Trail Blazers first-round series. The series is tied 1-1 and the action has shifted to the Moda Center in Portland — we have got everything you need on tonight's game, the biggest storylines, and where this series goes from here.

WHERE WE STAND COMING INTO GAME 3

The Spurs dropped Game 2 in stunning fashion, blowing a 14-point fourth-quarter lead as Scoot Henderson poured in 31 points to lift Portland to a 106-103 victory and even the series at one game apiece. San Antonio went without a field goal for the final 3:37, allowing the Blazers to close the game on an 11-2 run — snapping a streak of 76 consecutive playoff wins when leading by 14 or more points in the fourth quarter, a streak that dated back to May 19, 2003.

The series is tied, the crowd in Portland is electric, and the biggest question in the entire NBA is hanging over this game: is Victor Wembanyama on the floor tonight?

    THE WEMBY SITUATION

Wembanyama was diagnosed with a concussion after tumbling face-first to the floor when fouled by Jrue Holiday in the second quarter of Game 2, slamming his jaw into the court and never returning. To return, he must complete the NBA's full concussion protocol — no symptoms at rest, clearance from a team physician, completion of an exertion process, and confirmation from the league's director of the concussion program. Spurs coach Mitch Johnson put it plainly: "There's nothing more important than his health."

Two completely different series depending on his availability. We break it all down tonight.

    THE SCOOT HENDERSON FACTOR

Through two playoff games, Henderson has been arguably Portland's best player, following up an 18-point debut with a 31-point explosion in Game 2 while shooting 64.3% from the field and 53.8% from three. After not making his season debut until February, Henderson took time to settle in — but these last two games have been another level entirely, and if this is a real leap and not just a hot stretch, it is a massive boost for Portland's chances in this series.
