In this episode Devin and I cover John 4: 16-26.

Jesus continues his dialog with the woman at the well and shifts her focus from the earthly to the spiritual by confronting her sin and teaching her about the nature of true worship of God. The hour is now here for true believers to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.

In this episode we begin our verse by verse. breakdown of the chapter 4 of the Gospel of John. Covering verses 1-15, we learn about Jesus visiting Samaria, encountering a woman at a well, and hear what Jesus has to say about the living water that is only offered by Him.

In this episode I dive into some of the history of the bad relationship between the Jews of Jesus' time and the people of Samaria. This is more of an introduction to John chapter 4 as a large portion of the chapter focuses on Jesus' travel through Samaria, an encounter with a woman at a well, and many Samaritans coming to salvation in Jesus.

Understanding who the Samaritans are and why they and the Jews disliked each other is important background information for John 4. However, if diving deeper into this history isn't interesting for you, feel free to skip this episode. Verse by verse study of John 4 will begin next episode.
