Summary

 In which our intrepid travellers, having narrowly escaped the peril of wandering meteors, ponder the mysterious illumination of the moon’s surface and the nature of their celestial path. They come to realise that their vessel may be bound in an elliptical orbit around the moon, a most curious imprisonment under the radiant gaze of the sun.
