Motherhood is beautiful, meaningful, and sometimes incredibly hard all at the same time.

Today, I’m sitting down with Lynn Wilson, the mom of Christian and country singer Anne Wilson. Behind Anne’s music and success is a family story marked by deep loss, strong faith, and a purpose that continues to carry them forward. Anne’s story is pretty remarkable… no one in the family had ever heard Anne sing until she bravely offered to sing at her brother’s funeral service.

Lynn shares about the heartbreak of losing her 23-year-old son Jacob, and how God began writing a story their family never could’ve imagined. We talk about motherhood, grief, faith, raising kids with purpose, and what it looks like to keep showing up even when life feels heavy.

Today on Got It From My Momma, I’m joined by Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife, Mary Beth... two people whose lives and story have deeply impacted my own family in ways that are hard to fully put into words.

Steven and Mary Beth have been married for 41 years, and their journey has held both beautiful highs and unimaginable lows. Through it all, they’ve continued to choose each other, and to trust God in the middle of it.

Their new book, Still Here… The Long Journey Home, is a heartfelt reflection on marriage, perseverance, grief, healing, and hope.

And yes, this is a first for us here on the podcast… Steven is officially our very first male guest (other than my son). But don’t worry, the topic earned him a seat on the couch, because we’re talking about something that matters to all of us: a marriage that lasts.

Today’s episode is a tender and meaningful one. I’m honored to sit down with Ellie Peak Collins, the daughter of Cindy Peak, who was tragically killed in the Covenant School shooting here in Nashville.
This is Ellie’s first interview, and I’m incredibly grateful for her willingness to share her heart. Our conversation is honest and raw as she talks about walking through unimaginable grief, the way her community surrounded her and her family in their darkest days, and the deep hope that continues to carry her forward.
What struck me most about Ellie is the posture of her heart. She speaks about the hope of heaven, the faith her mother lived so beautifully, and the choice she’s made not to live in bitterness, even sharing the sorrow she feels for the shooter’s family.
It’s a conversation about loss, faith, and the kind of hope that only God can provide.
