Matt and James were delighted to sit down for a lovely chat with pop-rock trailblazer LØLØ.

If you aren’t already familiar with LØLØ from her collaborations with Simple Plan and Maggie Lindemann, she has carved out a lane entirely her own, cementing herself as one of today’s most compelling, confessional voices with 150M+ global streams. Kerrang! called her “One of the most exciting new rock stars on the planet.”

LØLØ has just released her sophomore album, ‘god forbid a girl spits out her feelings,’ via Fearless Records. The 13-track LP marks a bold new chapter for the Toronto native, expanding on the raw, rebellious world she’s built with a body of work that’s equal parts vulnerable, sharp-tongued, and unapologetically honest.

We discuss the new album, what it feels like to release such personal songs, her relationship with social media having built a massive following, playing tours with the likes of New Found Glory, and so much more.

Season 10 Episode 7: Small gigs, big gigs and new music (Feat. Shoreline, Deftones, Ben Quad and more)

After a very mini break, because life got in the way, Matt and James are back to have a little catch up.

We discuss our experience at the tiny Arm’s Length show in Kingston, how it compares to seeing bands like Deftones in huge venues, and chat about whether we prefer polished big performances, or chaotic punk rock shows.

We try to work out how much money everyone is losing on a club tour, and we catch up on all things NO SAFE HAVEN, with James bringing a little surprise for Matt to enjoy.

Season 10 Episode 6: Emo Dad talks to Kevin Lyman (Warped Tour Founder)

Matt and James were super excited to sit down with Kevin Lyman, the legendary founder of the greatest punk rock festival on earth, Warped Tour.

We discuss Kevin’s early days of putting on house shows and calling the police himself to get people to leave, when we hired an air hanger and accidentally shut down an airport, and booking bands like Red Hot Chilli Peppers to play skate parks.

We then of course chat about the early days of Warped Tour, how it was meant to be a one off and the first bands that were booked. We discuss the culture around the tour, how it’s important to support non profits and how to balance corporate sponsorship with punk rock. We chat about scenes and eras and bringing the festival to the UK.

We hear the exciting developments of this year’s tour, with shows in the States, Canada and Mexico scheduled and loads of amazing bands already announced. It’s going to be mega!
