    Jun 30 2026

*****audio clip issues from original upload resolved*****

Welcome back to the Nineties, where we're counting down the UK Top 40 Singles Chart as it was announced on 30th June 1996! Where we left it last week, Fugees' 'Killing Me Softly' was spending a fourth week at the top, seemingly increasing its sales every week.

This episode, however, we have 11 new entries all vying for the top spot, including singles from Bon Jovi, Ash, Reel 2 Real, Alison Limerick, Green Day, Electronic, Poltergeist, Bizarre Inc., Zee and Kula Shaker - plus, a rather unusual instance of a novelty single performed by two actresses that is actually quite good.
