This book was just the tonic I needed after reading zombie books for so long, refreshing, laugh out loud funny and the book seemed to have been written just for this particular narrator to read.
An all round fantastic experience leaving me wanting more.

This is a really fun read. How the lazy slacker survives the zombie apocalypse with the help of Monster Munch and a red dress. Tony the terrible online gamer wakes up after a heavy night to find the zombies have taken over. Then follows lots of scavenging, traveling the roads, despatching zombies with increasing skill.. A really fun mix of crude humour, gore and survival. Loved the storyline. James Meunier gives a top class performance, bringing the story to life or death as the case may be, Great stuff. I received a complimentary copy from the author and am leaving a honest voluntary review

Very humorous take on surviving the apocalypse of the walking dead ... would have loved it to be longer, brilliant narration from James an overall success...have a listen if you want a light hearted and amusing apocalypse novel..

As a fan of the zompoc genre, it does get a bit samey after a while - guns, unstoppable loners etc. I still love them, and this story is the reason why. Every so often, a new slant appears, and this is one of those. We meet Tony, a gamer-waster, junk food-loving loser with little going for him, other than his 'rich' fantasy life, mainly concerning his cleaner, Olga. So when the zombie apocalypse happens, he's ill-equipped to deal with it. We go on a tongue-in-cheek journey with Tony as he tries to navigate the worst of times. The humour in this is fantastic, as is the self-deprecating views that Tony holds - he's under no illusions that "Call of Duty" is not suitable training to deal with the dead. Getting himself into all manner of scrapes, you can believe that this is what would happen to you if you were chucked into the same reality. The writing is refreshing, the narrator excellent and above all, the story engaging. I will be checking out Nick James's other offerings as this really piqued my interest. A fantastic take on what can be a tired genre.

Loved this book. So unlike any zombie story... Average over weight dude trying to survive with zero witts or street smarts. Would definitely recommend this.
