While not being the most action packed of this series, this has set the scene for the start of the war. The next book cant come soon enough!

This is a typical Sarah J Maas book full of exactly what you'd expect if you've read or listened to her previous books in this series. Lots of romance, and character development along with plenty of scene setting.

It's what I wanted and expected but not for everyone I imagine.

This was great!! It tied up all the things that were questions for me from the book series. Love the bidding romance that forms!! Would definitely listen to the next one

I know reviewers have said that this book was a distraction from the cliffhanger of the previous book but I would say it’s an absolute necessity prior to reading the next. Much of the Volgs history is revealed and who and what they are. New bonds and allies are formed by our main character Chaol which sets us up nicely for the final book which I have just purchased in the sale thank you Audible.

It’s a necessary interval.

Another awesome book in the series, cleverly written great narration. I found myself falling into the story very easily, I felt as though I was actually there i was totally hooked couldn't stop listening. great book 5 star

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It was a slow starter but I think that was just because there was a lot of new characters to introduce but then it did get going and I liked it. I loved hearing more about the Valg and the history. I just can't wait for everything to come together in the final book. I just hope it will be as good and I think it will.
