About this listen
Born on Whadjuk country in Perth, Western Australia, Greg Campbell is the author of Total Reset. In 1972 an extraordinary event occurred on Country when he was bitten by the Rainbow Serpent, died six times, then experienced the universe through its eyes.
Twenty years later, following successful careers in the public and corporate sector, he was pulled to the remote West Kimberely region of Western Australia and found himself seated on the red earth with Lulu, a widely respected traditional Aboriginal elder with shaman-like powers. His totem was the Rainbow Serpent.
Deeply concerned about the future of the planet and threats to all life, Lulu, who did not read or write, asked Greg to live with him and the Goolarabooloo family and make one book. He felt that by bringing to the surface the Original Knowledge carried by the First Australians for tens of thousands of years, people would be able to look at our world through different lenses, opening new pathways for returning things to balance. I did not know it was my life’s purpose. The work took 31 years.
Interwoven with many stories and much research, Total Reset was first published in 2022. It is available as a printed book, eBook and audiobook narrated by accomplished Aboriginal actor and creative, Mark Coles Smith (a Nyikina man, like Lulu).
Total Reset posits that at this critical moment in the human saga there is a desperate need for alternative pathways to humanity’s 5,000-year trajectory of division and destruction. Time-tested, respectful modes of being and doing are highlighted along with reliable design elements of aligned socio-economic systems and structures.
It is a must-listen for those interested in ecological crisis solutions, Indigenous knowledge systems, the application of ancient wisdom to modern times, holistic living philosophies, systems change and complexity, human consciousness awakening, bioregional governance, rights of nature and regenerating sustainable, equitable, peaceful societies.
