I did find this story gripping and shocking in places at the degradation these girls suffered. It's still hard to believe that such atrocities happened. I would have enjoyed it far more had the narrator been properly versed in the pronunciation of Hebrew names. It was clumsy and inaccurate. Her pronunciation of Yitchak was "Yitshak" for example and nearly all the names of the people and the places in Israel were clumsy and grated on me. Having lived in Israel I know how they should sound and this was pretty awful. Her narration of the story was good and concise, hence not giving it 5 stars. Come on Audible, do get pronunciations right!

It is hard to say a book like this is enjoyable but it does contain a message of hope and survival amidst horror. This narration is also well done with few if any mispronunciations.

I discovered this book, whilst scrolling through the 2 for 1, I didn’t know that there were more books within the tattooist series. Each one takes you to that place, the bunks, the crematorium, the life on a concentration camp.
This author takes you there, you can see it, feel it, and even taste it. Everytime I chop an onion now I shall think of this book.
I love that there were some great stories after such a terrible experience. I shall keep looking for more.
