Probably not a great idea. However, the sexy lumberjack who lives next door is a sweet surprise. And so are his kids and the town.

Enjoyable listen, loved Cooper, & the kids and how they all interacted with Silas. This story gave cosy by the fire read. Finding love again after divorce. Sweet story, good HEA.

Story: A logger meets a retired (?) football player and sparks fly. A good premise, good execution and fun MCs. I liked the overall vibe of the story and the sprinkling of angst to spice it up a bit. The author did a great job creating a believable story.
Narration: Great performance. Good voice acting and great enhancement of the emotions in the book without overdoing it!

Silas Anderson is retiring from the NFL. His marriage has ended in divorce. His friend, Val offers him his house in Wood Hollow, Vermont for a while. Just as he arrives a snow storm closes in.
Cooper McMurry finds his new neighbour interesting, but clueless in the snow.
Finding Silas walking in a snow storm and incoherent, he knows he is suffering from mild hyperthermia. The best way to get him warm is skin on skin contact and a warm fire. What could possibly happen?

This is Lane Hayes’ first book in the Wood Hollow series. I loved the previous series Elmwood, it was one of my favourites, so I just knew I would love this book. I loved how the characters from Elmwood were mentioned too. The writing and the easy way the story flows is exceptional, which I have come to expect from Lane.
Nick J Russo does an exceptional job of bringing these characters to life. His narration and annotation of his voice are second to none.

Such a delight. More small-town goodness, and I love a romance where neither has to give up something for it.

Silas and Cooper are brought together when Silas underestimates a snowstorm and Cooper has to save him (swoon) and nurse him back to warmth.

Over time, these temporary neighbours become less and less temporary. And though they are hiding it, they build something strong and true.

Throw in a couple of fun kids, and Wood Hollow, Cooper, and Silas win your heart.

For the audio lovers, Nick J Russo is the narrator. Need I say more?!? He’s such a wonderful talent.

This is a heartwarming, feel good story. Both guys have life experiences and when the situation is set they find they are really attracted to each other. The problem is that the current lifestyles of both have roadblocks into a relationship. The story follows the regular outline of romance but the specifics are what makes it stand out.

The narration by Nick J. Russo really adds to the personalities.
