"Mark Morris is a stellar talent, equally able to touch the heart and chill the spine. He has a maestro's gift of weaving subtlety and brutality into the perfect symphony. If you haven't read him before, now's the time!" (Christopher Golden, #1 New York Times best-selling author of Snowblind)
"A new novel from Morris is always cause for celebration, and this first in a brand new trilogy ushers in his greatest, most complex and compelling work yet." (Tim Lebbon, New York Times best-selling author of Coldbrook)
"Mark Morris is one of the best horror writers we have. If you re not reading him, you're missing out" (Michael Marshall Smith, New York Times best-selling author of The Intruders)

If you could sum up The Wolves of London in three words, what would they be?

The words I'd use to describe this particular tale are; imaginative, dark and probably confused. The author has taken on a well traveled trope and done some clever and imaginative things with it, however within this process things get a little untidy. I think the premise is excellent and readers who have compared it unfavorably to the brilliant 'Rivers of London' series are doing this book a bit of a dis-service. Although the overall setting for both stories is same in as much as the are both London-centric and have a supernatural bent to me that's where the similarity ends. I find the Wolves of London a lot darker than the 'Rivers' series and am looking forward to seeing what happens in the next installment.

A slow burner, but worth persevering with........

Is there anything you would change about this book?

This story has so many screwed up and virtually un-followable leads in it, that I bought the second book to see if there was a definable line to the story. there wasn't.
The idea is Dr. Who based with time travel. But the way it is acchieved and the end result leaves you more confused and disgruntled than satisfied.

DONT BUY IT!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend it to a friend who was stuck for something to read and had already read London Falling and the Rivers of London books.

What did you like best about this story?

The story was entertaining, well written and I can't wait for the next book. I've read better in the genre but this is still near the front of the pack. The story starts off quite slowly and then suddenly it's galloping along. The final few chapters were thrilling and finishing on a cliff hanger has left me impatient for the next book.

What aspect of Ben Onwukwe’s performance might you have changed?

ARGH! He needs to chose a class accent and stick to it. He's trying to perform as a working class London character but his vowels and the occasional word are pure public school. I found it a little distracting. Other than that it was a good performance, he has a pleasant voice which I enjoyed listening to.

The book flows well, spending plenty of time developing complex and rich characters. The reader's performance was excellent and, as in all great performances, the fact that someone is reading the story is swiftly forgotten. The story line is well thought through and brings disparate threads together into a seamless whole.

If the author ever reads this: Bravo, nicely done!

Great, can't wait for the next instalment,

Have to admit, I had no idea what I was getting into with this book, as I've never read a story by Mark Morris. I've seen this title on my suggestions list for a good while now and finally thought I'd give it ago.

Very happy I did.

The story certainly leaves you wanting more and to know how characters ended up and what he has to do to get from point A to point C and whether he went to point F first!

Look forward to going through the rest of the series :-)

Did not disappoint
