This novel is a truly captivating piece of dark fantasy that lingers in your mind long after you’ve finished it. I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook.
The story strikes me as well written, and the storylines seemed to all nicely tie up by the end which was very satisfying.
There was lots of failing upward, character development, bad deeds being acknowledged as such, humor, all with a sprinkling of heartfelt romance.
The narrator also did a great job!

My only problem with this story is the assassins, otherwise the story is a lovely tale of personal growth. While the MC had an intense goal in the beginning, it ultimately evolved into something more. I was expecting something more brutal but it was ended up being very wholesome.
