The premise felt a bit like an exercise in a creative writing class. Just didn’t hang together enough to stand up even as a set of linked but separate shorts. Big names small impact. Good performances mostly but I found it irritating. Having said that if I really find something hard going I give up and I did carry on through to the end.

Decidedly average but listenable

Better audiobook than I expected, but not perfect. Most stories were very good on their own, however they didn't really have anything to do with Maggie's arch.

Except for a couple, most characters from the short stories are never mentioned again outwith their stories,which made the whole book club pointless in my opinion. Maggie's story is decent, but the ending is rushed and disappointing.
