1879, Victorian London. Tragedy strikes Minnie Ward's beloved Variety Palace Theatre when a man is found dead in suspicious circumstances. I am so gladly transported by her writing; there is a lightness of touch where description never feels overdone but gives you everything you need to see, hear, smell the whole world of the characters. I hope this series continues on. Very well narrated. Definitely worth a credit.

Very well developed characters brought to life through super narration for the audio book. The settings of Victorian music hall life, London and Manchester (amongst others) are superbly painted with period detail. I recommend all three of the Palace theatre mysteries.

Another enjoyable Victorian period mystery crime novel with Minnie and Albert.
