The Sunday Times bestseller, from the author of The Binding

'Utterly original… ensnared me from the very first page' EMILIA HART

'Storytelling at its most immersive' ERIN KELLY

The whole world disappears when you enter THE SILENCE FACTORY

In the Factory, the looms clatter all day. Cobwebs found in ancient Mediterranean glades are spun into a precious fabric that silences the world.

But what happens to those who fall under its spell?

And who is harnessing its power?

After all, a world of silence can bring peace, but it can also conceal the deeds of the wicked…

The Silence Factory is an enthralling story about complicity, desire and corruption – a novel to lose yourself in.

An original story and made all the better Bridget and Ned’s telling of it. Best story I’ve listened to in a while.

Amazing story, beautiful narration

Collins' writing is always spectacular so it delivered on that front, as usual. The story slightly lacked in parts for me, I found myself a little disinterested at times, and it's definitely not my favourite of her novels - but her endings are always satisfying and once this book ended I felt much better about it as a whole! My main gripe is with the male voice actor - I found his delivery and inflections odd and not suited to a lot of the dialogue. He's good at accents though, and when he wasn't putting an upward inflection on every other word, he was enjoyable to listen to. But that's just my opinion, the author must have been happy with his delivery and that's all that matters. Overall, would recommend!

Not my favourite of hers, but still a great story.

This was a strange story and normally I like that but I struggle to like this book.
Maybe I lost track of the story as I kept falling asleep, but I think I kept falling in asleep because it wasn’t engaging enough.

I usually only review books I love.

I loved the Bindings, so had high hopes for this, but found it disappointing. The main male characters were unconvincing - Henry came across as a simpering idiot and Sir Edward as a cartoon villain. Sophia's story was more interesting. The male narrator made quite a few mistakes of pronunciation - even just saying the wrong word at times, indicating a lack of care in reading. Overall I was glad to get to the end so I could stop listening to it.

Disappointing
