Summary
Avery could no longer stand to be humiliated by others for her belief in The Storytellers and the loss of her only child. Her loss, like others, was too great to bear and broke her heart. The memory hurt and continued to fill her with pain. With each shallow breath, her lips quivered as her mind raced. She leaned forward, placing her head down in her arms on the table. The soft sobbing, unnoticed by all except one, continue.
Between each sob, she began to feel him touch her mind, with his thoughts overtaking hers, calming her. She heard the words that had been spoken so long ago, silently caressing her ears as though someone was speaking to her. Avery listened, amazed at how calm she began to feel, listening as best she could to make sense of what she heard.
