Dexter’s characters are real people. He weaves the story with lots of twists and turns. The detectives have vulnerabilities. A real page-turner.

A mellow, realistic story

Yet again, it’s been a while since I last read this story and my memory of it was one that I didnt like it as much as others. However, it is one of the best Morse stories in the sense that Morse is at his deductive best (or is that inductive best) and Dexter is at his storytelling best. As with all Morse stories you need to hold on until the end. The best teacher of the whodunnit!
