She takes the science and applies it to aspects of life in practical ways, which can be easily applied to everyday life, in this case to life as a healthily ageing person. This robustly supported volume offers helpful advice and suggestions about how to negotiate the process of ageing with a positive outlook and gives every reason to live with happiness and purpose. It covers areas such as genetic disposition, happiness, diet and lifestyle, developing a sense of community, exercise and medication, complete with hints and tips, and a good dose of humour.
Heartily recommended for those already past their middle years, and everyone else who wants to age healthily and happily, in whatever stage of life they may now find themselves.

There is so much wonderful information in this book that is is hard to know where to start other than to say it that it is worth every minute of listening. And it is so well narrated. For the first time I can remember I actually want to give everything a go and feel good about what I achieve - no matter how small.

Some things are so simple - it is full of facts that matter in terms of your age, and it explains why any action will benefit you - even 3,500 steps will help you, it doesn’t need to be 5,000 or 10,000.

Rainbow food, superfoods (not as great as we think), microbiome, ‘accidental’ fasting (we all do this without knowing), weight loss - and everything is so easy to remember for some reason. It has resources, examples, and tells you what you can do.

I can’t recommend this highly enough - it demystifies everything you will know about but might have thought you were too old for or it was too hard to get into the habit and stick to - you aren’t, it isn’t and you can. That’s what this book made me realise.
