I could not stop listening to this fantastic book. A brilliant insight into a period of modern history that must never be forgotten. Written so fluently and Bill Paterson's narration is excellent.

This book is so movingly & quietly written. A story of terrible & unspeakable torture & suffering written by a man so brave & utterly dignified. It is also a story of atonement, forgiveness & peace. I wanted to know & understand the sacrifices of the poor people caught up in the war in Asia. It should be known & recognised. This is an unforgettable wonderful book.
