Some have been there for years, their minds warped into insanity by the fear and pain. Curt is new and can't understand why no one speaks and why the only sounds come from the night. He wonders what it is that comes out of the basement when the sun goes down.

what i remember most about the book, was the sheer terror of the children as night descended,Did the narration match the pace of the story?
the narrator was very slow in speech at first, i felt i wanted to wind him up abit.However this was soon forgotten as the story developed.If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
