About this listen

In the shadows and flames, Primals will fall…

And from the blood and ash, new gods will rise.

What was dreamt.

Poppy was never meant to awaken, and the consequences are devastating and far-reaching, stirring ancient powers from their slumber and transforming Casteel and Kieran in ways even the Fates couldn’t have foreseen. But what that means is the least of their concerns. For now.

What was foreseen.

The Blood Crown has fallen, but what has risen is a far greater danger than they’ve ever faced. From flesh and fire, the Great Conspirator has returned to the mortal realm, and he wants only one thing. They must stop the true Primal of Death before he regains his strength, and it won’t be easy. Even weakened, his influence is undeniable. His power, unthinkable.

Has come to be.

While the future of the realms rests upon them, they won’t stand alone. The gods have awakened—each harboring their own blood-soaked secrets. But they must navigate an unbalanced realm, where every choice—past and present—has the potential to not only undo everything they’ve fought for but also destroy the very bonds that have Joined them together.

For the Harbinger and the Bringer of Death and Destruction has risen.

I enjoy most of the series and had this book pre-ordered months before release as I was eager to see how the two worlds collided… even when I saw it was a 40h book I was excited as I could imagine all the wonders we could have in the final installment. But no. This book was so hard to finish, it truly tested me as I wanted to drop it many times for how boring it was. Long meaningless conversations that ended up in nothing, strong characters that were outcasted and removed from their original essence (hello Kieran, how boring you were in this book). Last few chapters where the only ones truly exciting only to realize that it didn’t finish here. Disappointed I might say.

40 hours that could’ve been 20 or less

A very long book, the over describing and constant repeating of every situation can be exhausting and frustrating, especially as a 40 hour book it could have easily been cut down to half! So much wasted descriptive writing yet somehow she still misses so much of the actual story and important character building! Also Kieran is really missed in this book! I stick with the series as I love the 3 main characters, but it’s getting annoying that she’s not building on them! She has created a beautiful world that could be great if she stopped over complicating it and going off the main story so much! And the gods, primals, relms was all too much! I think it would have been better if she went back to basics.

Good not great

talk about drawing out every sentence. I nearly lost the will to live and only persevered because I read the other books and wanted to see what happens. infuriating characters that never learn from previous mistakes. At this point don't think I care about what happens in the next installment. I hope I'm proven wrong and Jennifer pulls out a blinder.

much longer than necessary

the ending of this book has been broken depressed and just sad. I did not see any of it coming and im just broken over it all. I lived every second of it but i think this one will stay with me for a while

It was good but my least favorite book out of the whole series. I missed all the characters, loved the banter, but hate the long drawn out unnecessary inner monologues and convos. Loved that we got a chapter from Kieran’s perspective. The narrators voice fits him perfectly unlike the voice for Casteel (always irks me)!!! What a cliffhanger! Hate that now we have to wait forever to find out what happens. Sigh.

I missed all the characters so much!
