the author had a sense of humour which run through the story. although there were sensitive subjects I felt it was well balanced.
a bit of shock with two weddings at the end but still enjoyed it. 😉

Well written and enjoyable.

A wonderfully sweeping tale. Beautifully written and narrated. Let Anne Gracie take you back in time and immerse yourself in the delights and difficulties of regency London . A thoroughly enjoyable romance to savour. Highly recommended.

The perfect story

Hope saves the last waltz of the evening for her choice. All the men want to claim it. Sebastian has come for a wife to help his sisters. He has just found them and they are difficult. He is big and hard looking but she is attracted to him. Both have dark pasts. A great story. Not funny like her last book but I was enthralled as the story unfolded.

But I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did the first book in this series, which was really good and had some quite funny passages. Made me laugh!

Reasonably good story

This is my second Anne Gracie book, she does make me laugh out loud sometimes. I’m a bit more used to the narrator now, she still uses an odd tone but it didn’t intrude on the story too much.

The second book in The Merridrew series.
