When Death goes on strike, some rejoice—while others await the return of his icy grip—in this dark fantasy novel from the author of Mountain Man.

In the dead of winter, on a highway in Quebec, a man crashes his car and survives. In New York, a homeless person is run over by a bus and lives. A teenager jumps off a high-rise building in Tokyo and fails in her attempt to take her own life. All around the world, miracles like these are taking place. Death seems to have taken a holiday, and humanity breathes a sigh of relief.

But over the course of the next week, some people will begin to suspect the terrible truth behind these marvels. A handful will even search it out. One man will find it. In seven days, all hell will break loose—and nothing, living or dead, can escape its fury.

Stick with it. the narrator really comes into his own with all the voices accents and impressions. I read the reviews and were really pur off but people said stick with it. so I did. well worth a credit.

Stick with it!

Look, I've got over a hundred audio books and narrators make or break the experience for me to the point that I will listen even to a bad story.. so DO NOT get taken in by the bad reviews... this guy hits his stride after a few chapters and does an amazing job with the characters and truly defines them as individuals.. great story and very good narration. Get this audiobook.

So worth sticking with ..thumbs up

Not sure why there is a tag for ‘scary’ as nothing is scary nor is there any tension.

Felt like a slapstick comedy with attempts at serious scenes ruined by teenage humour.

This should be listed for young adult as the premise and story telling is very immature and basic.

Not for me.

Couldn’t finish the book

I wish I'd considered the reviews that stated that the narrator was too annoying. The story is great, the author is, as usual, brilliant and the only reason I made it to the end... But I do wish it was read by someone who could do the story justice... BEWARE!

PJO was too annoying as the narrator
