From the bestselling LitRPG author of The RPG Apocalypse

A gas station clerk at twenty-seven with no future prospects on the horizon, Mike Reynolds is a dropout with an addiction to video games and a less-than-ideal living situation. Life definitely isn't great, but could it really get much worse?

When monsters appear on Earth and begin destroying the fabric holding together humanity, that thought is thrown out the window: everything is getting worse, and fast. 'Is my world becoming an MMRPG Apocalypse?' Can Mike make good on his prior experience and carve a foothold for himself as a Necromancer in this RPG world?

I cant say how many times MCs turn stupid a few chapters into the book. killing any good start or base idea that the author had.
so am very happy to say that this book has a consistently good solid and smart MC.
Went straight to my fav. list and i look forways to the next book and more from the author.
the pase is methodical but it makes sense and it is good from start to finish. So enjoi =)

Smart MC and well written.

The best thing about the story is that the MC and the compulsory wifey companion in this genre are actually pretty well written in and do not feel as forced as in all the others. The slow and reasonable power scaling is also pretty nice.

Then the bad things:

While the narrator is pretty good with voices, his narration voice sounds extremely apathetic at times which is a little bit off-putting, but not a deal breaker.

The major problem I personally have with the story is the way too gamey world building and very poorly setup cities and starting events. A massive city had all but a couple of people die in one day, the city apparently has no stores to get supplies or weapons and all of them were in a gas station that two lunatics burned down and cut the tires of apparently the only car left in the world for no reason. And a gas station had no spare tires or repair kits?

It just doesn't add up at all.

The second biggest problem is how many bad decisions the MC and his wifey make in the early levels. They knew attributes and skills affected class offerings, they hit level 10 and opened up a second skill slot. She really wanted an archer class, but then he urges her to use her class stone immediately before using up her attribute points and the ARCHERY skill tome that could have guaranteed her an archery based special class. The MC doesn't know how to use his skills, he almost dies multiple times by refusing to use his summon spell in combat and he never prepares any corpses for boss fights.

Even after that, they just ignore the open skill slots and new attribute points before taking massive risks again, and most insultingly, they let a bunch of lvl ~5 weaklings the MC could easily solo rob them... come on man, but at least a little bit more effort into the writing

Seems actually pretty nice Necro +survival story
