Another absolutely great audio book and well written by Karin Slaughter. This has been my favourite so far. Once I was hooked I couldn't stop. Highly recommend to anyone who loves crime and forensic related books. The rawness and vivid imagery created is well portrayed by the reader. Definitely a must have.

Where does The Kept Woman rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In My Top 10, I would rank it higher but I've only relistened to it twice so I do not know if it will stand the test of time or if it will be as compelling the next several listens down the line.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Angie Polaski is my personal favourite character as she is the anti-hero throughout the story that I rooted for. She has a jaded past, however, I don't sympathise with her character I merely have an appreciation for her strength and resourcefulness. She makes several blunders throughout this story and her devotion to her daughter is a sign that no matter how much she wants others to think that she is devoid of emotion. I felt her indignation at the abusive life her daughter faces but also the frustration at herself for not being able to truly help her own flesh and blood without disclosing their connection. Her internal battle and the constricted amount of time to help her daughter at the very end of the story was gripping and made for such an enjoyable listen.

Did Jennifer Woodward do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?

I appreciated the subtle differences in approach to all the female characters however the male characters all sounded the same to me and their bad portrayal distracted from the story at certain moments.
