Brenda thought she and her daughter were just getting used to their new normal after Scott's death, but when she sees him at the airport their new normal collapses around them revealing greed, corruption, danger, lies, an FBI investigation and a police force with questionable investigation skills, she finds herself trusting Ben, her secretive new neighbour. Ben finds himself in a difficult position as he is thrown into the investigation with Brenda, made more difficult by the feelings he finds himself having for her. You have to respect Ben and how he handles the investigation, his feelings and the danger that follows them. I really enjoyed this book, it was only made better by the fantastic narrator who did a fantastic job!
