About this listen

Sarah's grandfather was a horseman of rare talent - only the exceptional are allowed into France's elite riding academy, Le Cadre Noir. But life took an unexpected turn, and now from a council estate in east London, the Captain hopes to train his granddaughter towards a better life.

Absolutely love this book. Quite unrealistic in parts yet a very enjoyable read and definitely one to recommend.

Love it...

A roller coaster of emotions, as an equestrian of 50yrs, a retired nurse and psychotherapist and many life experiences similar to the subjects in the book, it is so accurate and knowing. I loved it!! It will appeal to everyone . Well done Jo Jo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The best book I have ever read

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would. JoJo Moyes always writes an epic story and this was no exception. It had so many different angles in it with Sara the main character (and the horse Boo of course!) being at the centre of it all.

What other book might you compare The Horse Dancer to, and why?

I don't really know of one

Which character – as performed by Julia Franklin – was your favourite?

Cowboy John and Natasha

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were so many moving moments in this book but particularly I would say when Sara was determined to leave her horse in France but didn't have the confidence at that time to tell Natasha and Mack why

Any additional comments?

I love all Jojo Moyes' books, they are all so different from each other. I have no affinity with horses but I could really feel the love Sara had for her amazing horse. It was a book with a real feel good factor at the end.

A gripping read

Started a tad slow but by chapter two I couldn't stop listening & over the course of the book grew to love the characters.
A complete rollercoaster of emotions and had me smiling and crying, really well written and read. I didn't want the story to end and felt lost as to what to read next, always a sign of a great book!!

Emotional rollercoaster that had me gripped!!
