About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

You live on a picturesque communal garden square, an oasis in urban London where your children run free, in and out of other people's houses.

You've known your neighbours for years and you trust them. Implicitly.

You think your children are safe.

But are they really?

Midsummer night: a thirteen-year-old girl is found unconscious in a dark corner of the garden square. What really happened to her? And who is responsible?

Utterly believable characters, a gripping story and a dark secret buried at its core: this is Lisa Jewell at her heart-stopping best.

I literally could not stop listening throughout but I was disappointed with the ending. I was expecting a big twist that kind of never came. the ending was too obvious for me

amazing but disappointing ending

An unusual storyline but with no decent ending. It felt as if the author needed to finish the book quickly. Basically it’s about a group of sexually precocious 13 year olds with dysfunctional parents and not really up to Lisa Jewell’s usual standard

Not the authors usual standard

Loved how the story flowed and was twisty and turny all the way through. Another fantastic book by Lisa Jewell

The story was gripping

Loved it… easy to follow well performed ans well crafted novel, and slightly miss them and want to know what happens to those girls as they grow up and will adella ever admit her role in it all? Hopefully I’ve inspired your curiosity
