I read this book a number of years ago and the story always stayed with me. So this time I decided to try listening to it.

I agree with a previous review - the narrator has the wrong voice for the genre. I found her voice to be too shrill and tight - more New Yorker when it should have been a low Southern drawl.

The story wasvgreat. Should really change the narrator. Looking forward to the other books of the series.

Managed to get through to chapter 3 and had to give up. Really weird voiceover acting and the story is misleading. The description leads you to think that the main characters haven't met yet but turns out they are exes with a 7 year old child. Was looking forward to the story of them meeting, not being exes.

I found the flashbacks annoying just like cains egomania but what made it virtually impossible to enjoy was the narrators voice. No attempt at a soft southern accent, no differentiation between characters. I am gutted that the performer ruined it for me. I'll read the books in future
