About this listen

Before the world knew her as Catharine Cleveland—a leader of industry, a pillar of polite society, a steward of philanthropy, she was:

A scholar.

A rower.

A promising pianist.

A dutiful heir.

But above all, she was a girl who fell in love.

From the ancient halls of Oxford to the sun-drenched vineyards of Bordeaux, and across the Atlantic to the political circus of D.C., meet Cate Brooks in The Colonel’s Daughter—the prequel to the best-selling series, The Senator’s Wife.

I was delighted to see there was a prequel to the much enjoyed Senator’s wife series. It didn’t disappoint either. I would definitely agree with the author to read this as the 4th book in the series … it filled in gaps but knowing what was going to happen made the story more dramatic and heartbreaking.

Excellent addition to the series

This is another fantastic captivating storyline.
However it's an emotional journey that is hard to listen to in places.
Her father was not a good man, and family life was difficult.
So he sold her off to another horrid man!
I like the m/c and wished her life was better.

FAB.✨

It was so good to hear the back story of Natalie and Kate. But sad knowing what was on the horizon.
