This book is the adventure of Michael who witnesses the end of the world as it happens. He is somewhat of an observer and not the hero. While others around him are destroyed he witnesses the world destroyed as he moves from place to place.

The reason for the invasion is never explained; it just happens. There is no resolution or solution.

The narrator was very good.
