absolutely loved it and how much inspiration this has given to Manny video games and movies and the Voice Actor did a great job of capturing the atmosphere and storytelling.

It has taken me 35 years to get round to reading or listening to the Call of Cthulu. It was well worth the wait.

It is easy to see it's far reaching influence throughout modern literature and entertainment. Lovecraft's mastery is undeniable.

Very easy to listen to, the reader's pronunciations at times aren't great but are easy to overlook.

The suspense is real, the fear is created in ones mind, it isn't written for sheer shock the way modern horror is, but written so you yourself, make yourself uneasy at that imagery presented. The account of Johansen is one of the most memorable pieces in this book, very well written.

Please read/listen to this, it's very short and takes no time at all and will change you. I will say as a point of interest, a disclaimer of sorts, the language used when referring to those of darker skin tones is period apparent, and for that reason sort of unsettling at points.

I chose this version as the voices of the narrator was gritty and held within it the level of fear I felt appropriate for a Lovecraft story. However there was not much variation in tone, and after a while this gritty fear became tiresome. As the story was short, it wasn’t too bad however.
