Summary

Beth Lowe has been sent a parcel. Inside is a letter telling her that her long-estranged mother has died. There is also a scrapbook Beth has never seen before. Entitled The Book of Summers, it's stuffed with photographs and mementos compiled by her mother to record the seven glorious childhood summers that Beth spent in rural Hungary. I have loved the shell detectives series but just couldn’t get into this book. I did finish it but just found it a bit annoying . Enjoyed reading and listening about Hungary but I just didn’t connect with the book. The plot twist was unexpected but wish I hadn’t carried on with the book
