Summary
A poor man captured a very unusual bird. His children were amused with the feathered guest and forgot their hunger for a time. They soon discovered that the bird gave the gift of wealth to the one who would eat his gizzard and the gift of being king to the one who ate his heart.
The story follows two sons of the poor man. Would they be wise? Would there be a moral? A memorable short fable of Balkan origin.
