It nice to get to listen to the original source material of this series has season three of the TV show adaptation has just finished airing. I just hope they do the rest of the book in this series

The main character is a salaryman who while respected by his coworkers, never really got his fair shot before being stabbed in a random attack and is reincarnated in another world as one of the most unassuming of monsters, a slime. These are typically considered to be quite harmless when found by adventurers in stories or video games and are quickly dispatched so he will need to find ways to adapt to this new form and survive.
The story as it progresses has impressive world building as well as memorable characters, fearsome battles, mystery and intrigue.
The narrator is the english language voice actor for Rimiru, the slime in question. This will be how many will be familiar with the character and as Rimiru often does voiceover within the show this keeps that feeling and is the only way I'd want to experience the story. She also showcases her impressive versatility by voicing the other characters in the large cast.
One thing worth noting for fans of the series is that like most adaptations of books this is able to include more detail and background than can be depicted on screen so there can be a little more depth to this already rich and compelling story.
