About this listen

tres•pass \'tres-p  s\ n: a transgression of law involving one’s obligations to God or to one’s neighbor; a violation of moral law; an offense; a sin –Webster’s New International Dictionary (second edition, unabridged)

In what may be her most unsettling novel to date, Sue Grafton’s T is for Trespass is also her most direct confrontation with the forces of evil. Beginning slowly with the day-to-day life of a private eye, Grafton suddenly shifts from the perspective of Kinsey Millhone to that of Solana Rojas, introducing listeners to a chilling sociopath. Rojas is not her birth name. It is an identity she cunningly stole, an identity that gives her access to private care-giving  jobs. The true horror of this novel builds with excruciating tension as the listener foresees the awfulness that lies ahead. The wrenching suspense lies in whether Kinsey Millhone will realize what is happening in time to intervene.

T is for Trespass–dealing with issues of identity theft, elder abuse, betrayal of trust, and the breakdown in the institutions charged with caring for the weak and the dependenttargets an all-too-real rip in the social fabric. Grafton takes us into far darker territory than she has ever traversed, leaving us with a true sense of the horror embedded in the seeming ordinariness of the world we think we know. The result is terrifying.©2007 Sue Grafton; (P)2007 Random House, Inc. Random House Audio, a division of Random House, Inc.

I was very disappointed to hear the words 'Audible hopes you enjoyed this programme' because it meant I'd come to the end of a really good story, read by a brilliant storyteller.

Audible hopes...............

I enjoy reading the alphabet murder mysteries by Sue Grafton; her PI Kinsey Millhone is a fantastic spiky character - almost antisocial in some ways. This book was quite a departure from the other books in the series, you certainly cannot empathise with the main character who is amoral and completeley evil, she has no redeeming features at all. I listened avidly to find out how the story would play out. I enjoyed it immensely and would highly recommend it. A gripping listen!

A fabulous Kinsey Millhone story. How did they know that the narrator's voice was the voice I've had in my head all these years when I've read the other books in the series? After a slightly disappointing couple of books which didn't really engage my imagination, Sue Grafton is back on top form - and better. This book had a depth that I haven't found in her others. And it was all so plausible - easy to see how a determined crook could worm their way into an older person's house ....

Throughly recommended.

Creepy and convincing

Typical American tripe. If you like easy reading with an occasional laugh this fits the bill but I can't see me reading another in the series especially as there is a whole alphabet of them. As this is book 20 it's obviously a popular series but definitely not for me I'm afraid and wouldn't recommend it

Lightweight rubbish
