Elijah Muhammad was both progressive and regressive. His fabricated Islam simply inverted White racism and reflected it back. This is why the Nation of Islam received funding from the American Neo-Nazi Movement. Malcolm X eventually discovered the Internationalism of genuine Islam and threw off the corrupting influence of the racist Nation of Islam! The speeches should reflect the chronology of his personal evolution but do not. They are randomly presented in no particular order. Even so, there is a quality about Malcolm X that transcends the content. The discerning listener will intuitively understand that despite the words used, Malcolm X is communicating a greater and more profound truth that cannot be limited to the context of the speeches.

Malcolm X Became a Great Thinker!

A very large amount of original recordings of speeches and interviews with Malcolm X.
That’s the positive.

However, the material is a mixed bag of good and bad quality recordings, repetition, some material that’s not even relevant, but worst of all it’s all mixed up and in no useful order.
This is problematic when there is such a massive difference in Malcolm X’s speech from his Nation days to when he travelled to Makkah, performed Hajj and became a real Muslim.

You will have speeches where it’s the Hon Elijah says so and so, then next lecture you’ll have Malcolm speaking for himself as a progressive, non-racist, about organising on an international level, then another part it’s right back to Elijah says so and so. This could be very confusing for someone not familiar with Malcolm’s life and his journey. Do I do not recommend this collection for anyone who is unfamiliar with Malcolm X.

There’s already so much confusion and misinformation in the general public about who Malcolm was, what he stood for. Presenting a large body of material like this in such an chaotic manner helps no one.

A massive amount of content but poorly presented.

If it were up to me this book would be required reading for every high school student. It’s moving informative and an interesting take on the state of US politics in the 50’s.

Deep dive into one of America’s greatest minds.

Truth speaker, integrity and a leader of leaders!

Greatest leader to black people and probably the smartest man I ever had the privilege of listening too

Great words from a great man

So many speeches i hadn't heard before. A great insight into the politics of the man, and the overwhelming effect of the politics of the nation of Islam on his communications, a virtual stranglehold at times.
