I went into Souls in Ruin completely blind. From the first chapter I knew this was an author I could trust to take me on a journey. The journey turned out to be heart-wrenching and soul-devouring, but every page was worth it. The dedication page is not playing around. Without a doubt this will be the best book I read in 2026.

What poetic, dark masterpiece did I just listen to?! 🖤🥀

I went into this completely blind, thiis book feels like candle wax, ruined castles, aching souls and quiet madness. It’s traumatic, brutal and beautifully poetic all at once.

Princess Mireille’s journey HURT. The pain, manipulation and emotional torment she endures was heartbreaking, but watching her slowly claw herself back into herself? INCREDIBLE. She refuses to stay broken and I loved that about her.

And the romance dynamics?! Captor x captive, forced proximity, forced marriage, villainous gods, obsession, touch her and die energy… inject it directly into my veins. 🖤

The narrators absolutely MADE this audiobook addictive:
🎧 Meg Sylvan & Corvin King are already auto-listen narrators for me and they DELIVERED as always.
🎧 E.M. Wyld was new to me and fit the dark gothic atmosphere perfectly.

My only tiny criticism was that the middle pacing dragged a little and some parts felt repetitive… BUT that ending twist?! EXCUSE ME?! That final reveal pushed this into 5⭐ territory for me.

Oh. My. God(s). I loved this so much. I wish I could listen to it again for the first time, I inhaled it. The writing is so beautiful and emotive, the story so compelling - oh and the spice was SO well done.
The narration was also ABSOLUTE PERFECTION and really did the characters and the story justice. To be clear this is a dark romance but if you are here for that then you are going to be as obsessed as I am. Cannot wait for book 2!!

I’ve read the book and this audio did it complete justice! Narration was perfect, couldn’t have picked better voices for the 2 MMCs.
