In this sizzling dystopian romance, perfect for fans of Fourth Wing and The Hunger Games, your secrets can be a death sentence, and there are rules to survival:

TRUST NO ONE.

Twenty-year-old Wren Darlington is not your ordinary Mod. She’s one of the most powerful in existence.

But her world is divided. On the Continent, being a known Modified means certain death, as the Primes - those immune to the biotoxin that nearly wiped out the population 150 years ago - want nothing more than to eliminate those who were enhanced by the toxin and developed psychic powers.

LIE TO EVERYONE.

Wren has survived all these years by concealing her abilities and keeping a low profile while doing what she can to aid the rebel Uprising in fighting against the Primes’ oppressive rule. But one careless mistake places her in the crosshairs of the Continent’s military, and she is forced to join their most elite program: Silver Block. Unwittingly, her enemy has given her - and the Uprising - the perfect opportunity to strike a devastating blow from inside their ranks.

AND WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T FALL FOR YOUR GREATEST ENEMY.

That is, if she can keep her powers hidden, survive training, and prove herself to Cross Redden, her cocky, maddeningly attractive commanding officer.

Despite the explosive chemistry between them, Wren cannot let Cross get in the way of her mission. But as war rages between Mods like her and those who aim to destroy them, emotions run high and secrets are revealed, forcing Wren to decide how far she’s willing to go to protect herself . . . and how much of the Continent is worth saving.

Editorial Review

A new series to obsess over
A dystopian, enemies-to-lovers tale with a powerful heroine and a dash of fantasy? Dani Francis, did you write this for me? Needless to say, I inhaled this debut, which hooked me from the outset with its air of mystery and surprising humour. Wren Darlington has spent her life hiding—both her true identity (which even she doesn’t know) and her powerful psychic abilities that would mean death by execution. Both by chance and by her own mistakes, she lands herself in the Continent’s military training program where she now has the opportunity to join the rebellion of Modifieds (like herself) and cause chaos from inside enemy lines. One problem (among many): Her attraction to her commanding officer. Amanda Dolan (Red Queen) is perfectly cast as Wren, and the twists that come in the final third of the book already have me aching for a sequel. —Katie O., Audible Editor

This is Book 1 in the Series, and oh boy, where do I begin?

This book was chosen for our Book Club and I decided to listen to the audiobook and my, oh, my.... this story is incredible!

The story follows Wren... a Mod in a world of Primes, where Primes ('normal people') hate and want to eradicate Mods but Wren is a very special Mod.

After a series of events, she finds herself basically trainuming for Silver Block - an elitist, highly regarded, best of the best branch of the military.

Wren is an amazing character. Having been raised by her uncle, she is strong, determined and incredibly independent. She is a fabulous role model for women everywhere - she's fierce!

Wolf was an interesting character and I loved how we were fed breadcrumbs throughout the story, until we came to the grand reveal!

Silver Elite is all about setting the scene and letting the reader learn about this strange alternative world, with its strange rules and discriminatory views.

We meet our main characters and learn about who and what they are, with each playing an incredibly important part to the overall story.

Dani gives us plenty of twists and turns with several explosive moments that I didn't see coming at all! She also leaves us on a crafty cliffhanger that made my jaw hit the floor!

Although this book has been described as science fiction, it wasn't heavy on the science fiction and the story flowed more like a romantasy which I absolutely ADORED!

Having now read this book, I am pretty certain that things aren't what they seem and I can't wait to continue with Book 2, Broken Dove which is due to be released in May 2026.

I am utterly obsessed... so obsessed that I have I have bought the 1st Edition UK, 1st Edition US, will be entering the queue for the FairyLoot version and am on the lookout for any other versions...

I honestly cannot recommend this book highly to all!

Dani Francis, what have you done to me?

The narration really enhanced the entire reading experience of Silver Elite. The emotions came through loud and raw, and I genuinely felt the weight of every twist, loss, and glimmer of hope. It’s a mash-up of all the big fantasy hitters, with its own unique flavour of pain and passion.

The story is fast-paced and full of energy—tragic, yes, and emotionally heavy at times. The lead character’s emotional journey is tangled and messy, and while I wasn’t keen on how intimacy was used as a balm, the overall arc still kept me hooked. And that ending? Brutal. Absolutely brutal.

I’ll be impatiently waiting for the next one, heart in hand.

A beautifully broken fantasy with bite
