In third-century Ireland, Retchet hounds of the underworld are famed for their ability to catch any prey set before them. Protectors of the realm of Annwn, they defend the god of the dead and accompany him on the Wild Hunt, a monthly excursion to the mortal world where no man or beast is safe. This time, however, they are the ones being hunted.

Mairi is a young hound on her first Wild Hunt, determined to impress the pack and her king. When she and her fellow hellhounds are ambushed by the mortal king of Ulaidh, Mairi’s mentor is killed. What was a simple hunt has now become a quest for vengeance, and Mairi is chosen to deliver it. She is offered three unique forms and sent to the mortal realm to kill the human that threatens them all. The determined hellhound believes she is prepared for anything that may come her way. What she doesn’t count on is the ability of a heart to forgive and replace hate with love.

In this retelling of the classic Grimm’s fairy tale, All Kinds of Fur, an assassin is torn between two halves of herself—on one side is a fearsome Retchet hound bred for the hunt, and on the other is a simple woman yearning for peace and a place in the world. When the time comes for her to complete her mission, Mairi must decide which form is the disguise and which is her true self.
