Two sisters are about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime.

Fern has always wanted to see the ocean, so when her mother asks her to accompany a wagon load of bees to Emerald City, Oregon, she jumps at the chance.

Content to stay at home, Iris, Fern's sister, never imagines that God will call her to follow after her sister–alone.

What will the Founder sisters find waiting for them in the coastal town? Perhaps true love . . . or danger beyond their wildest imaginations. Their sisterly bond might be challenged in ways they never dreamed . . . can they pass the test?

The Founder sisters had proven to be interesting characters in the previous book, so I was looking forward to it. While the series is Christian Fiction, I think this book leans more heavily on that side due to an affinity some members of this family have. While I wasn't a fan of how it was presented, I did like how the author portrayed God as someone who is close by, who cares, and whom anyone can lean on. I also liked following the story of both Fern and Iris and their path to finding love (while encountering danger and helping others along the way). I looked forward to all the scenes with their grandma (and her cat), and it was equally interesting to get to know new characters like Lawson and Graham. If you like poetry and beekeeping, then you'll enjoy this one. Also, I think the rivalry and grudge aspect could have been developed a bit more. But overall, it served to highlight the theme of forgiveness.

As this is the third book in the series, the listener has spent a lot of time with the narrator. Since it's the same one for the trilogy, it's great for continuation. However, while in general, her performance can be good, I struggled more with some of her male voices this time around than in previous books. Also, I don't know if it's the speed at which I listened to it, but the pauses or breaks between scenes of the same chapter feel nonexistent. Finally, I think it would have been better if there had been continuity in the voices of the main characters, because it felt as though Iris and Fern's voices would shift from lighter to deeper, or vice versa.

If you're looking for a Christian Historical Romance book or series with an emphasis on family and faith, you could try this one, but even though I was intrigued by the other two sisters and would love to know more about them, there doesn't seem to be any books written about them, so I'm not sure I'll be checking out more of this author's work in the future (or at least in a while). ~ 3.5 stars
