I tried not to care, but I couldn’t let her fade into the darkness.

Ivar

We only lived in peace for a month before the Culebra cartel sent us a message: they wanted revenge for what we did to Roque. We killed him, and in doing so, we thought the cartel would fall. Little did we know the cartel didn’t die with Roque, instead someone else claimed his power. Now we’re dealing with an enemy we don’t even know.

Over the weeks the messages became more clear. Our women were attacked, and one of our children was almost taken, yet during all of it I was focused on something else entirely, or should I say someone else.

Starla.

Ever since she took a life there’s been a change inside her. Darkness is consuming her day by day, and I worry about what she’ll become if I don’t intervene. No one else in the club gives a damn about her because she’s a hóra, but I do.

I don’t want the darkness to consume her, and over time, we form a bond I never thought we would.

***Savage is the tenth and LAST book in the Raiders of Valhalla MC series by Elizabeth Knox. It is not recommended to listen to this book as a standalone. Please note subjects within this book can be triggering, and this is intended for mature audiences only. Rest assured, this is not the end of the Raiders of Valhalla MC. Elizabeth will be debuting the second generation series titled 'Raiders of Valhalla MC: New Blood' in January of 2025. The first book is titled 'Manic' and will be Tor's book.

Apparently it’s the final part. It didn’t feel very final! Lots of twists and turns. I love the continuity throughout this series. I get the feeling there is a lot more to come from this story.

Brilliant narration from Jason Fella

Starla is found by Ivar beaten on the road side. He takes her back to the club. Her story is hard and full of emotion, becoming the one of the clubs women. Starla and Ivar keep stay as friends. Hiding feelings until Ivar can't ignore it anymore.
Enemies at the door and a past to confront.

UGH. Isn’t the final book in a ten-book series supposed to tie everything together? There really wasn’t much closure here, and I was pretty disappointed by that. I listened to every book in the series because each one was just decent enough to keep me moving to the next, but this finale felt phoned in by both the author and the narrator.

Early on, parts of the narration cut off or faded at the ends of sentences, which became distracting fast. I kept hoping the narration would improve as the series went on, but it stayed the same flat, monotone delivery throughout. There were even a few repeated lines.

Overall, this series just didn’t come together strongly enough for me to recommend it.
