I have trouble hearing the dialogue when the narrator whispers because the character is whispering. The book is spoiled because I cannot hear the narration. Please stop the whispering in audio books

I thought this book took a long time to get going. I didn't really bond with the characters and found that once the story was in full swing I didn't much care how it ended. The best bit for me was the last 5-10 minutes. Was it all worth the wait? Not in my opinion.

Fabulous, gripping book. Didn't want to switch off. I think this would be great dramatized, so many twists and the characters come alive with the minutiae details of their actions and thoughts. Loved the narrator's voice too!

What did you like best about this story?

I know Florida well, so I enjoyed that it was set there and in the UK. The best aspect of it for me was probably the prominance of the relationships of those who met on holiday. It was different to the usual context for a crime drama. It was beautifully written and clever.

I'm a huge fan of Mark Billingham. I love Thorne and even before that I enjoyed many standalone novels. This one however fell short for me. I never really got in to the story or the characters and it was a bit of a chore to get to the end. A shame, but perhaps it opens up a new market who will love this and not Thorne etc.
