I've been looking forward to this latest installment in the Dwayne Morrow mysteries series. It did not disappoint! The narrator is just incredible, scarcely missing a beat and he truly brings it to life in my head. I am British, so trying to imagine the American accents isn't easy for me. I found myself pulled in each time I listened and was putting off going to sleep or ignoring chores to listen to another chapter. I've said it before, but I found myself exasperated with Dwayne at times. He just seems to fall into one pickle after another, and I was willing him not to be such a plonker! It's great character writing, I truly feel like he a real person and you are along for the crazy ride. What makes the writing stand out to me are all the little details that ground the story and builds a fully fleshed out world. Loved it! Can’t wait for the next!
