About this listen

From the multi-award winning author of Him comes another mind-bending psychological horror that speaks to the darkest recesses of the human psyche.

After suffering a brutal and random attack, Daniel Henderson is left fighting for his life. As he embarks on the long road to recovery, he begins experiencing disturbing visions. Fleeting and half-glanced, they are visions of women being murdered, women who are victims of the Tallyman, the notorious serial killer whose reign of terror began forty years ago.

As Daniel’s family start to put back together the pieces of their life, Daniel dismisses his visions as traumatic hallucinations. But as they become more vivid, he finds himself haunted by details that only the killer could know.

Tormented by memories that aren't his own, soon Daniel is driven to hunt down a killer who’s murders have loomed over his entire life. Sacrificing sanity itself, Daniel begins on a terrifying journey into madness to confront a darkness more warped and unexpected than he could ever have imagined.

Narrated by James McAvoy, and perfect for fans of Stephen King and John Marrs, JD Kirk delivers another terrifying blockbuster which shines a light on the hidden evil buried within us all.

Loved this book so much. My first by this author and I will look into the others as well. But the narrator was amazing. He really should do more audiobooks. He made this.

Another amazing book. Well worth the listen. The narration was superb. I nearly managed to do it in one sitting but fell asleep around 4 am. Put it on again as soon as I awoke. I’d been wishing for a truly good book for a while and this was definitely it. A huge thank you to J. D.Kirk for he wonderful gift .

Wow. I read this in almost one sitting, within 24 hours.
I absolutely could not stop reading, catapulted to a place of suspense and intrigue almost immediately.
The story line was gripping.
But James McAvoy, oh my goodness, James McAvoy as narrator ... his awesome, superb, Oscar-level performance made listening a roller coaster of suspense.
I need to go lie down now ...
J D Kirk does it again!

James McAvoy deserves a narrator Oscar for his performance!

violence, confusion and fear- and that's just what the main character feels as he grapples with his sense of self after a trauma. Don't want to give any clues to the plot, so I'll say no more apart from, James McAvoy's performance is excellent as ever, and really pulls you into the protagonist's world.

disturbing but brilliant!
