About this listen
The sixth book in Harrison’s New York Times bestselling urban fantasy series starring Rachel Morgan. A pacey and addictive novel of sexy bounty-hunting witches, cunning demons and menacing vampires.
To save the lives of her friends, Rachel did the unthinkable: she willingly trafficked in forbidden demon magic. And now her sins are coming home to haunt her.
As Rachel searches for the truth behind a terrifying murder, an even greater menace threatens, for the demon Algaliarept will stop at nothing to claim her, and the discovery of a shocking family secret throws Rachel’s entire life into question. If she is ever to live free, Rachel must walk willingly into the demonic ever-after in search of long-lost ancient knowledge.
But when you dance with demons, you lay your soul on the line… and there are some lines that should never be crossed.
Published as ‘The Outlaw Demon Wails’ in the US.

Great story, prefer the other narrator
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
Narrator pronounced names & words differently and Janx’s voice is ear piercing horrific!
Can’t wait to start next book and be back with Marguerite’s characters.
Another great adventure

There's also a bizarre choice to use an instrumental piece at random points, sometimes in the middle of a conversation so not even to give a sense of time passing.
Still they go back to the usual narrator after this book so it is worth suffering through to continue the series
Minor annoyances can't ruin great story

What did you like best about Rachel Morgan: The Hollows (6) - Where Demons Dare? What did you like least?
I have really enjoyed the series and am unsure why they changed the narrator for this book. Her voice is annoying with some of the characters and she pronounces things completely differently to the original narrator...so much so that on occasions I didn't know who she was talking about for a while. I am also getting fed up with the blood balance thing between rachel and Ivy, it detracts from the story and is going on too long. Hopefully the next book will be back on form. What did you like best about this story?
Kim Harrison is an amusing writer, all series have there good and bad points.Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Gigi Birmingham?
The narrator who reads all the other books in the series..Marquette Gavin.Do you think Rachel Morgan: The Hollows (6) - Where Demons Dare needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
I hope so as the series hasn't finished!!annoying narrator
