Perfectly executed, and prize-worthy
Unflinching. Every word in this crisply told story matters, and every seemingly-casual moment is laced with dread, daring you to look away. You won’t (Ani Katz)
My only criticism would be that the translation felt (rightly or wrongly) skewed to an American audience. The language just felt all wrong at times and along with the American accent of the narrator I had to keep reminding myself the book was set in France and not the US. Don’t let that put you off though.
